The Rocket Mortgage Classic will once again offer the Birdies for Charity program in 2021, allowing all verified non-profit organizations to use Detroit’s PGA TOUR event as a vehicle for fundraising.

Through the program, all registered, 501(c)(3) organizations that apply can collect flat-rate donations, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the participating organizations. With no administrative fees or heavy lifting, this turnkey program is a unique and proven way to raise significant funding for nonprofits. Since 2019, more than 240 nonprofit organizations have raised thousands of dollars to help support their missions.

Serving as a launchpad for long-term positive impact, the Rocket Mortgage Classic Birdies for Charity Program is designed to help increase the amount of positive change generated by the PGA TOUR held within the City of Detroit.

The third annual Rocket Mortgage Classic is scheduled for June 28-July 4 at Detroit Golf Club. Last year, the Rocket Mortgage Classic, in partnership with title sponsor Rocket Mortgage, generated more than $2.7 million for nonprofits, with more than $2.4 million going toward the multi-year “Changing the Course” initiative focused on ending the digital divide in Detroit.

As with years past, holes 14-16 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic are known as “AREA 313” after Detroit’s area code. Starting this year, AREA 313 will become the most charitable three holes in golf, with various programs integrated into those holes to drive corporate and individual donations to support Changing the Course.
