The Old Newsboys’ Goodfellow Fund of Detroit is a 107-year-old charity founded in 1914 by James J. Brady.  Our primary mission is "no kiddie without a Christmas".  Each holiday season we provide up to 30,000 children ages four through 13 with a holiday gift box, loaded with warm winter clothing, toys, books, games, candy, a dental kit and more.  We serve children in Detroit, Highland Park, Hamtramck, River Rouge, Harper Woods and Ecorse.  The Detroit Goodfellows also provide shoes for kids in need, dental care in partnership with UD Mercy Dental School and summer camp scholarships.  We also provide scholarships to Wayne State University's School of Journalism for  Detroit area young people.
