Founded in 2020 by Brittany Murphy, Blue Line Jars is a non-profit organization that emerged during a time of increased tension and negativity towards law enforcement. Recognizing the importance of showing appreciation for officers, Brittany began a heartfelt initiative by distributing candy-filled mason jars to officers on duty as a gesture of gratitude. What started as a simple act of kindness quickly evolved into a broader mission dedicated to supporting and uplifting the law enforcement community.

In 2019, Brittany discovered her passion for working with police dogs, leading to an expansion of Blue Line Jars' outreach to include support for K-9 units. Since then, the organization has provided vital resources such as first aid bags, Narcan kits, and custom Kong tug training toys to police K-9s. 

Thanks to the generosity of individual donors, donation boxes, and contributions from community events, Blue Line Jars has made a significant impact on the lives of both officers and their canine partners. The organization has successfully outfitted six police K-9s (with a seventh on the way) with ballistic vests, enhancing their safety and protection while on duty.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Blue Line K9 Legacy Fund, a dedicated initiative within Blue Line Jars aimed at supporting retired police K-9s who have served alongside our law enforcement officers. March 2025 marks five years since Brittany initiated her mission with candy-filled mason jars, and we are proud to celebrate this milestone by expanding our efforts to ensure that retired K-9s receive the care and support they deserve in their golden years.

The Blue Line K9 Legacy Fund will provide assistance for essential needs such as food, veterinary care, and other expenses for retired K-9s. This initiative honors the Blue Line Dogs—those who have received ballistic vests and other support through Blue Line Jars—while remaining open to any retired police K-9 in need.
