More Details

The Palmer Drug Abuse Program offers cost-free guidance and support for adolescents and young adults struggling with substance abuse and mental health challenges.

For 55 years, PDAP has kept connection, acceptance, hope, and sober fun central to the focus of a life without substances. When it comes to overcoming substance abuse the only way forward is together. That’s why at PDAP nobody involved in the recovery process, from teen to caregiver, has to go it alone. We continue to offer a welcoming and inclusive environment where every young person, regardless of their background, feels valued, supported, and empowered. Addiction does not respect social class, racial or ethnic background, nor zip code. In 2025, our organization served 2,111 participants and parents across the Greater Houston area. This continued growth shows the desperate need in our community for programs like PDAP’s where teens and families learn and experience that sobriety is the only way forward.

PDAP has consistently proven our integrity and transparency in our operations and fiscal responsibility and have received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the highest possible, and CANDID’s Platinum rating for multiple consecutive years. These impartial, third-party evaluations validate our organization's effectiveness and reliability as a public charity, conveying confidence in our donors and community that all funding goes toward the effectiveness and reliability of our program. Last year 75% of all general operating funding contributions went directly to PDAP’s programing, which includes the APG, teen groups, parent groups, weekend sober socials, family counseling, and more.
