Make-A-Wish Connecticut

Make-A-Wish Connecticut grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. Wishes have proven physical and emotional benefits that can give children with critical illnesses a higher chance of survival. The average cost of a wish in Connecticut is $10,000. By granting a wish, wish kids experience so much more than a temporary escape, it gives them strength to keep fighting.

To qualify for a wish, a child must be between the ages of 21/2 and 18 at the time of referral and have a critical illness. Kids can be referred by a family member, medical professional (doctors, nurses, social workers) or the child themselves. Make-A-Wish Connecticut has granted more than 3,800 wishes since its inception in 1986.  A wish transforms the lives of children, their families, volunteers, supporters, medical professionals, and entire communities.
