STAR is a not–for-profit organization serving individuals of all ages who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as providing support services to their families. We create opportunities for individuals to live full lives with independence, freedom of choice and personal growth by providing support, services and advocacy. We inform and encourage the community to recognize and appreciate the value of all individuals. Our goal is the inclusion of all individuals with disabilities in their community.

STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way is a not-for-profit organization that has been serving individuals of all ages with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) in Fairfield County since 1952. Our mission is to enhance the welfare and quality of life for these individuals and their families.

Through a range of support services, we empower our community by providing educational, vocational, day, residential, recreation, pediatric therapy services, advocacy, and family resources. Our commitment extends to fostering inclusion, independence, and opportunities for people of all abilities.
