The North Hartford Partnership is a nonprofit organization working with the community to advance equitable social and economic development in North Hartford.
North Hartford Partnership operates the Swift Factory, a formerly abandoned gold leafing factory and 2 adjacent homes, which has been transformed into a hub of employment, entrepreneurship, community engagement, and services.
Swift opened its doors in the fall of 2020 after a ten-year community engagement, fundraising, planning, and construction effort. During that period, residents identified the desire for jobs and economic opportunities. Based on those needs, Swift includes:
Incubator kitchens and office space for local entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses.
A planned workforce development hub to connect residents to jobs in growing regional industries.
A Head Start facility run by the Capitol Region Education Council.
