More Details

We help Haitians heal Haitians with a commitment to serving the poor and supporting a reliable, consistent and sustainable healthcare system for medically-underserved villagers in and around Port-au-Prince.  MATH Board of Directors and Committee members are all volunteers, and 95% of all contributions go toward the funds needed to support the local Haitian staff, special projects, and medical supplies.

Port-au-Prince Project

Current State: Partnering with Dr. Wilkens, local Haitian surgeon and medical director, and the all-Haitian medical staff at Hôpital Bellevue-La-Montagne, a community hospital and neighborhood clinic operation, health care, including OB/GYN, pediatrics, general surgery, ophthalmology, dental, ultrasound and x-ray imaging, laboratory and pharmacy services, is provided 24 / 7.

2024 GOAL:  Continued support of primary healthcare, surgical and specialty services, with goal to improve pediatrics and neonatal care.

Mission Trips --

Current State:  Mission teams of US medical and non-medical professionals, along with inclusion of additional Haitian medical professionals, travel up to 4 times a year.   Additional surgical and specialty services (oncology, urology, ophthalmology, dental, etc.), and collaborative training are conducted.  At this time, concerns for team safety is preventing travel, but the hospital and clinics remain open with Haitians healing Haitians and medical seminars are held through virtual media.

2024 GOAL:  Expand collaboration with Haitians staff through virtual media.
