More Details

Each year, Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford welcomes over 650 hard-working, low literate adults seeking to change their lives through literacy. Our trained volunteers provide classes in Basic Literacy, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), GED test prep, Citizenship and more.  As students meet their literacy goals, career navigators provide 1:1 assistance in resume building, job searches and applications to help them gain sustainable employment. Every student's success expands the skilled workforce in Greater Hartford, making a stronger, more resilient community for all of us to work and live.
