The Connecticut Breast Health Initiative, Inc. is a state-wide non-profit organization making a significant impact in the quest to find a cure for breast cancer by providing grants to support education and research in Connecticut. Founded in 2004, it has been our goal to find answers in our lifetime.

To date, CT BHI has awarded $4.3 million in 107 grants to fund important breast cancer research and education projects in Connecticut. We strive each year to surpass this milestone with the help of our supporters, sponsors, and fundraising efforts.
CT RACE IN THE PARK, Saturday, May 10, 2025
The RACE takes place every year on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Every year, thousands join the RACE Day events in New Britain’s Walnut Hill Park. It’s a family tradition and a celebration of life.
Over its 20 years the tournament has awarded $4.3 million in 107 grants for breast cancer research and education..
We also receive donations from individuals who believe in our mission and support this work financially and with generous volunteer time.

One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. There were 297,000 breast cancer cases in 2023 in the United States. Approximately 40,000 women are expected to die from breast cancer each year. Despite this, there are more than four million living breast cancer in the US today!
