Building healing relationships that empower children and families to reach their full potential
Klingberg Family Centers is a private, non-profit agency providing a comprehensive range of services to thousands of persons across Connecticut each year. Our goal is to extend hope and healing to children and families whose lives have been impacted by trauma in its various forms; such as family conflict; social, economic, and life challenges; and mental health issues. Through an array of programs, including group care, special education, foster care, and community programs, children and parents are given the encouragement and skills they need to function more effectively at home, in school, and in their communities. In addition, we provide professional training and child sex abuse primary prevention nationally.
Founded in 1903, Klingberg Family Centers originally served as a “Children’s Home” for boys and girls who were orphaned, abandoned or whose families were unable to care for them due to economic, social or medical hardships. In 1968, the organization made a successful transition into a residential treatment center for children and families. Our main campus is located in a residential section of New Britain and we also offer community services from offices in Hartford and a Parenting Education Program from an office located in Meriden.
