More Details

Hands On Hartford is committed to increasing food security and nutrition, improving health and providing housing while we engage volunteers and connect communities. Over 1,000 families visit our MANNA Community Pantry each month to get groceries including fresh fruit and veggies, milk and eggs.  225 children participate in our weekend backpack nutrition program so they have plenty to eat over the weekends.  Our Gather55 restaurant is open to all, regardless of ability to pay, bringing economically diverse communities together over delicious food.  Our housing services include a street outreach team which connects folks living outdoors to services and housing; homeless prevention services aimed to prevent evictions; and supportive housing caseworkers who provide one-to-one assistance to folks with complex health issues. Over the past 54 years Hands On Hartford's core values include the dignity and respect of our Hartford neighbors, and an overall goal of strengthening community in Hartford.
