We help Haitians heal Haitians with a commitment to serving the poor by creating a reliable, consistent and sustainable healthcare system in Haiti through two major projects:
Dame-Marie -- Partnership with the Fondation Antoine and Association d'Entre-Aide des Dame-Mariens (AEADMA) for support of maternal health care by Haitian OB / GYN and medical professionals.
Current State: An OB-GYN, anesthesiologist, anesthetist, and two (2) operating room nurses at Hôpital de la Communaute Dame-Marienne (HCDM) are supported on-site 24 / 7 and provides maternal health care and emergency Cesarean sections to the community of Dame-Marie, Haiti, a remote fishing village of 40,000 on the southwestern-most tip of Haiti.
2022 GOAL: Continued support of staff and supplies needed for examinations, including cervical cancer screening, and OB / GYN surgery, including pre- and post-op services, with a stretch goal to add a pediatrician.
Port-au-Prince -- Partnership with Dr. Wilkens Gilbert, Haitian surgeon and medical director, supporting an all-Haitian staff providing medical, surgical, and administrative services.
Current State: Dr. Wilkens and the medical staff at Hôpital Bellevue-La-Montagne / Centre Medico-Chirurgical du Quartier (HBLM / CMCQ), a community hospital and neighborhood clinic operation, are supported 24 / 7 and provides medical care, including OB/GYN, pediatrics, general surgery, ophthalmology, ultrasound imaging, laboratory and pharmacy services, to impoverished villagers in and around Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
2022 GOAL: Continued support of primary healthcare, surgical and specialty services, with stretch goal to support dental care.
Mission Trips --
Current State: Mission teams of US medical and non-medical professionals, along with inclusion of additional Haitian medical professionals, visit each location up to 4 times a year. Additional surgical and specialty services (oncology, urology, ophthalmology, dental, etc.), collaborative training and eyeglass clinics are conducted. At this time, concerns for team safety prevents travel.
2022 GOAL: Collaborate with Haitians staff through virtual media.
