 BCYL’s motto: “Building Today’s Youth; Tomorrow’s Leader”

Bridgeport Caribe Youth Leaders (BCYL) was established in August of 2003 by Sam and John Torres in memory of their late father, Martin.  The goal was to provide the children of Bridgeport with a baseball league in which they could participate and grow.  Sam and John found a group of dedicated individuals to form a Board of Directors and the first baseball game of the Caribe League was played on May 1, 2004.  Since that first game, seventeen years ago BCYL has served over 7,000 youngsters and increased athletic programming to include softball, basketball and cheerleading.  Education and community service also became part of the programming offered by BCYL.  The enrichment programs included tutoring, SAT Preparation, college awareness and personal integrity.

During the COVID-19 health crisis, Bridgeport Caribe Youth Leaders has sucessfully transitioned programming to a virtual platform in order to support youth in a safe environment.  The health and safety of our youth is our number one priority! We are continuing to develop innovate ways to support youth and their families as we provide educational, sports and character building programs.
