Connecticut Humane Society

The Connecticut Humane Society is the leading resource in the state for companion animal welfare, enriching the lives of families and communities through adoption services, medical care, education, and prevention of cruelty. Connecticut Humane Society receives no ongoing municipal support, is not affiliated with any national animal welfare groups, and does not euthanize for time, space, breed or age. CHS envisions a state where each companion animal finds a permanent, compassionate home, where communities are enriched by the special bond between people and animals and where cruelty no longer exists.

More Details

When a pet in crisis has nowhere else to turn, the Connecticut Humane Society is able to respond with open arms, thanks to you.

Each year brings thousands of reasons to support CHS pets. In 2021, the lives of 5,283 pets—and the people who love them—were transformed during their time of need. Some needed a quick pat on the head and a few vaccines. Others needed months of medical care. From finding a new home, to getting everything needed to weather a rough patch with the family they already had, pets are able to get a fresh start only because of generous people like you.
