The Ted Lindsay Foundation was organized in 2001, when a friend of his ,son was just diagnosed at age 2 with Autism.  Ted wanted to know what he could do to help which the foundation for Autism was developed.  The TLF made their first gift of $1M to Beaumont Health now named the Ted Lindsay Foundation HOPE Center at Beaumont Children's.(Hands-On Parent Education).  November 2018 presented a Gift of $1M to Oakland University Center for Autism (OU Cares) to aid in the teenage and adult autism programs, the center is now called the Joanne and Ted Lindsay Autism Outreach Services at OU.  In 2019 the TLF  received the prestigious "Outstanding Foundation Award" from the Greater Detroit Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals.
